Practical AI for the commercial systems behind growth

Most firms don't need more tools — they need better systems. I help growing UK service businesses fix the bottlenecks between sales, delivery and leadership: diagnosis first, one narrow pilot next, broader redesign only when it's earned. I'm a Derbyshire-based operator working with UK firms.

An honest note on where this practice is: I hold a senior commercial role and am taking on exploratory conversations now, paid engagements selectively. Everything this page claims is demonstrated on this site rather than asserted — that's the deal.

How I work

  • Diagnose

A focused review of how work actually moves — workflow, handoffs, reporting, information flow — mapped across the four systems. It finds where friction sits and which AI-enabled improvements carry the clearest commercial value.

  • Pilot

One narrow, practical intervention — chosen for speed to value and clarity of proof, not technical novelty. AI supports the workflow; a person stays accountable for anything that matters.

  • Expand

Broader redesign only once the pilot has earned it — workflow, reporting and decision-support improvements sequenced by commercial value, not by what's fashionable.

The entry point

AI-Enabled Commercial Systems Diagnostic

A structured review of workflows, handoffs, information flow and reporting across the four systems — leadership interviews, systems walkthrough, friction mapping — ending in an executive read-out and a written report. Not a generic AI workshop.

What you leave with: an executive summary of where friction sits · a systems and friction map · a prioritised AI opportunity map · one recommended first pilot, chosen for speed to value and clarity of proof · a staged roadmap of what to fix now, next and later.

A common first pilot: the sales-to-delivery handoff — capture the commercial context that gets lost between teams, structure it consistently, and make delivery readiness visible. Narrow enough to scope properly, visible enough to prove itself.

Who this fits

  • Founder-led or operator-led service businesses where growth has outpaced process
  • Reporting that is still too manual, and numbers leadership doesn't fully trust
  • Handoffs between sales and delivery that lose context and create rework
  • Over-reliance on the founder or a few key people to keep work moving
  • Interest in AI, wariness of hype, and no clear place to start

The evidence

The method above is the same four-system model this whole site runs on, demonstrated live on my own operation — every claim traceable to a write-up or a shipped thing.

Or start from the shipped work and the evidence-scored capability map.

Starting a conversation

Enquiries here land in a system, not an inbox — stored, classified by AI against a written client profile on arrival, and read personally. On a site about systems judgement, the front door should be evidence of it. An exploratory conversation costs nothing and I'll tell you plainly if I'm not the right fit.
